Using MySous

These terms apply whenever you use mysous.co.uk, whether you have an account or are just trying it out. By using the site you agree to them. If you are using MySous on behalf of a business or household, you are confirming that you can accept these terms for them.

Your account

Creating an account needs an email address you can receive post at, and you have to confirm it. Keep your sign-in details to yourself – you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us quickly if you think someone else has got in. One account per person is plenty.

Fair use

MySous is for cooking. Please don't use it to upload unlawful, harmful or harassing material, try to break into areas you haven't been given access to, hammer the site with automated requests, or resell the service. We may limit or stop access that puts the site or other members at risk.

Recipes come from AI

Recipes, macro figures, allergen information and chef answers are generated by AI. They are estimates and starting points, not advice. They are not a substitute for a doctor, dietitian or allergen guidance, and packaging is always the final word on ingredients. Sense-check quantities, timings and labels as you cook, and use your own judgement on heat, knives, raw meat and anything you are serving to other people. You decide what you cook and eat, and that stays your responsibility.

What you save is yours

Recipes, cookbooks, shopping lists and photos you create stay yours. To make the site work you give us permission to store, display and back them up – for example so a saved recipe opens on your phone and prints on your kitchen printer. We don't sell your content, and turning off the community features means nothing you save is shown to other members.

Ads and sponsored links

MySous is free to use and the free version carries advertising. Some product links are affiliate links, and sponsored placements are always labelled, so we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Advertising never changes the recipes the chef suggests.

Changes and availability

The site keeps evolving, so features can be added, changed or withdrawn. We'll aim to keep MySous running, but the service is provided as it is and we can't promise it will never be interrupted. If we make a material change to these terms we'll say so here.

Leaving

You can delete individual recipes at any time, and ask us to close your account and remove your data whenever you like. We'll do that and confirm it's done.
